Responsibilities

The Opportunity

A successful Regional Service Manager will manage the performance of the field operations team which includes drivers and field technical support staff in assigned locations.  The position is responsible for day-to-day rental operations such as inventory controls and warehouse organization, maintenance and allocation of equipment, expediting approved purchase orders in a timely manner to ensure there are no lost opportunities, and effectively and efficiently managing the dispatching of the rental team resources.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Conduct weekly meetings with the rental operations team to review sales activity and the jobs to be delivered for the week
  • Review people and equipment capacity for upcoming projects and plan accordingly
  • Recruit, onboard, train and develop field operations technicians
  • Leading by example, setting a strong safety culture with the operations team and developing safety best practices
  • Manage the equipment inventory and the execution of the Rental Delivery Agreements (RDA)
  • Manage the warehouse inventory and develop/implement systems for organization
  • Manage the maintenance and testing of equipment to ensure it is rental ready
  • Manage equipment repairs to ensure the equipment is rental ready
  • Ensuring job costing is accurate and applied to work orders
  • Lead project post mortem reviews to continually learn and continuously improve
  • Be available/accessible 24/7 for service issues, troubleshooting and managing the emergency delivery of equipment
  • Provide and set expectations for exceptional customer service for the field operations team
  • Assist with various projects as needed and perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

The Required Profile

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related discipline
  • Minimum 3-5 year’s experience managing service technicians in a service based business
  • Experience in the rental industry highly preferred
  • Expert level experience with Microsoft Suite: Word, Power Point, Excel
  • Proven ability to work effectively in collaboration with department heads as well as the executive team
  • Highly organized and detail oriented with the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proven problem solving, conceptual thinking, and analytical abilities; experience with process adherence and suggesting improvement to processes
  • High level of written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential information
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

 

Other Skills/Abilities

Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Mental stamina for problem solving and prioritizing multiple tasks.

 

Environmental Requirements

Will be required to travel within the assigned geography various company locations and jobsites.  Approx travel required is 40-50%.

 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to operate computer keyboard and telephone, reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk, and sit. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
